droid app
Do you guys have a droid app?
787 votesHi Everyone, Thanks for your interest in a ShopWell Android App. This is still planned for the future. However, we do not have a timeline at this point. We appreciate your patience. You may use ShopWell.com to get the same personalized food scores as the App provides. We’ll update the status again here when the Android App is available.

Add a basic diet filter.
Just a simple filter based on some basic diets, such as: vegan, vegetarian, paleo/primal. Nothing too in-depth. just a rough guide to help get people started regardless of dietary preference

I need to be able to compare foods to the requirements of my whole family, not just me.
My husband can't eat any artificial colors, my daughter is lactose intolerant and I have high blood pressure and cholesterol. It would be great if I could input each persons details and have products come up that would be OK for all of us to eat as well as what would be OK for each individual
82 votesWe absolutely agree that this is pivotal! We’re anxious to get this going soon on our website to help you meet the needs of each individual member of your household.

We’ve been thinking along similar lines and are looking at the best ways to give you this information. Thanks for the recommendation.

Add low carb as a filter
Your "type 1" and "type 2" diabetes filters don't bring up low carb options, which are fundamental to healthy diets for people with those conditions (and for many people generally). It'd be great to see a low carb filter added.

make your saved lists available on the iPhone app
I love the app but was disappointed to find out that after I spent considerable time on ShopWell.com creating my lists, that the app could not retrieve them. Looking up each item at the store is not practical for a mom who has to shop with children. I want my lists ready to go once I leave the house. Thanks!
43 votesThank you for the note. Yes, we know this is frustrating. We are planning to get to this shortly. Once we have a date, we will let you know. Thanks, again, for giving us feedback.

classify by geographic region
Many of the products are regional while some are national. Identify those that are regional and their region.
40 votesWe know that food availability varies by geography. While it is a somewhat complex problem for us to sort out, it is one that is very important to us, too. In the meantime, we are improving the ability for you to search by brands, which should somewhat help for now.

Include MSRPs. I make purchases based on health and cost. Include both pieces of info. We need both!
37 votesWe agree that food decisions are based on health, value, and taste. We’re working on different ways to allow users to weight these criteria based on what matters most to them..

restaurant meals
I know eating at chain restaurants are bad but sometimes we just HAVE to (and it's not out of desire)! Can you incorporate the nutritional info for restaurant and fast food (gulp!) restaurant items so at least we can choose the most nutritious one available?

This makes a lot of sense. We know people are not always eating at home. We are currently focusing on getting a comprehensive snapshot of what is in the grocery store. Once we feel as though we have made enough progress on this front, we may consider going outside of the grocery store into popular restaurants. Thanks for the feedback. It is definitely on our radar.

Organic foods
It would definitely help if you expanded your organic foods and added it as a "things you want". Your list of foods and brands is extensive when going to the average grocery store, but you don't (yet) have a lot of alternative/smaller brands

add "meat" or "animal product" to the list of allergens, etc
Allow for the filtering based on vegan and vegetarian diets.

create pre-determined, or user-defined product baskets (such as meals) with recs based on prod grp.
I often buy groceries based on meals, and having the nutritional info together (and being able to browse suggestions from SW and/or other users) would be helpful.
27 votesGreat suggestion. We’re taking all of these ideas into account as we plan our next steps and will roll new features out over time.

Consider adding in sustainability criteria to your grading system
I applaud your efforts to focus on creating access to reliable information on how we can feed ourselves in a healthy and nutritious manner, but I was sorry to see recommended foods that are very unsustainable, specifically some of your seafood options. I understand the need to focus your efforts, but recommending things like shrimp is irresponsible, and puts the health of people at odds with the health of the planet (and in many cases, hurts the health of people suffering consequences of unsustainable food systems, like villagers suffering illness from the high doses of chemicals poured into shrimp ponds…
27 votesThank you for the very thoughtful comment. Many of us here at ShopWell share a similar mentality and hope to be able to include info about food that goes beyond the individual consumer’s health. Of course, we want to make sure that the info we provide is as solid as possible. We are focusing on health first but hope to branch out as soon as we feel we can do this in a responsible manner.

aspertame
I suggest separating out the various artificial sweeteners (and sugar alternatives) or allowing specific selection/deselection of sweeteners. Some people have sensitivity to aspartame, but can handle sucralose or stevia.

To work towards being more transparent in our grading, we’ve modified the wording on our About Us page to help explain our grades. In addition, we’re working on giving more specific info about the characteristics that have raised or lowered the grade on a specific product.

add check boxes for different types of oils
I am trying to avoid unhealthy oils, like canola and vegetable, that should be added to the list of items

add pricing to the "sort by" option
even if it is just general data and not specific to stores or regions i think many users would start there instead of by grades.
17 votesWe’re looking into ways we can provide pricing information and are working to determine the best way to bring this information to you. Thanks for the suggestion. This is definitely on our minds, too.

history of items and/or favorites
provide a history of searched and scanned items!!! or allow to mark items as "favorites" for future reference -- maybe even lists for preferred items/brands and items to avoid, etc.
